Elements and Constellations

Six were the Stones of Creation, like six were the Constellations. Six were the Primordial Elements, like six were the ancient peoples.

The Light belongs to the Constellation of Existence.

The Water belongs to the Constellation of Law.

The Earth belongs to the Constellation of Free Will.

The Darkness is not of this World anymore.

The Fire belongs to the Constellation of the Heart.

The Sky belongs to the Constellation of Destiny.

The Elements were a gift from the Divine, and their powers are kept inside the Eternal Stones, placed on the six continents and bestowed on each of the ancient peoples:

  • Ur – the Light
  • Wodr – the Water
  • Geb – the Earth
  • Xand – the Darkness
  • Mej – the Fire
  • Sohwl – the Sky

The wheel of the Elements is imprinted on the Stars and it’s used by the living creatures to take measure of the passing of time.

In what is known as the First Era, the Darkness tried to overpower the Light in a war that created a hole in the vault of the sky.

The Dark Constellation was torn from the firmament and exiled to the World of Darkness, but the hole in the vault leaked the waters of the Primordial Ocean, causing a Deluge that flooded most of the landmasses.

The peoples took to the sea in search of dry land and arrived on the continent of the Sky (Sohwl) one of the few to be spared from the fury of the flood.

They brought with them the Wardens and a fragment of the Eternal Stones, a spherical gem that carried within its element and its powers.

But five powerful Wardens, living so close on the same land, were dangerous to the balance, and the powers had to be redistributed, breaking the stones in two, and thus halving their strength.

Nothing more was heard of the people of Xand, after their island was destroyed, but it’s believed some of them survived, and found refuge in the Lews-lend (the Lost Kingdom) off the southern coast of Sohwl.
